Dr. Constantine Raphtis

Dr. Constantine Raphtis has been a leader in both minimally invasive gynecologic surgery as well as complex women’s health issues for more than 20 years. With an emphasis on robotic and urogynecologic procedures, he’s able to address surgeries such as hysterectomy and urinary incontinence in a single outpatient setting. Dr. Raphtis also provides in-office procedures including endometrial ablation and Mona Lisa Touch which significantly improve women’s lives with little to no downtime.

Dr. Raphtis received his medical education at Des Moines University and completed his residency in OB/GYN at Michigan Hospital & Medical Center. He is board certified in OB/GYN and has privileges at St John Hospital & Medical Center and St John Macomb Hospital.

Dr. Raphtis has been featured in Hour Magazine as one of the Faces of Women’s Health in Detroit for his focus on conquering vaginal health issues affecting breast cancer survivors as well as menopausal women.

Dr. Anne Marie McCarren

Dr. Anne McCarren specializes in OB/GYN care and the treatment of perimenopausal women and women with post-menopausal bleeding. Dr. McCarren was recognized as a “Top Doc” in obstetrics and gynecology by Hour Detroit magazine. She received her medical education at Wayne State University and completed her residency at Hutzel Women’s Hospital. She is board certified in OB/GYN and has privileges at St John Hospital & Medical Center.

Dr. Kami Kveton

Dr. Kami Kveton specializes in menopausal symptoms, endometrial ablation procedures, and office gynecology. Dr. Kveton received her medical education and the University of Michigan and completed her OB/GYN residency at St John Hospital & Medical Center. She is board certified in OB/GYN and has privileges at St John Hospital & Medical Center and St. John Macomb Hospital.

Dr. Wontika Smith

Dr. Wontika Smith believes in educating, empowering, and including patients in their care. She has a strong emphasis in preventative care. Dr. Smith offers gynecological services, menopausal medicine, adolescent medicine, and minimally invasive techniques, such as endometrial ablation, and Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy. Dr. Smith received her medical education and Wayne State University and completed her OB/GYN residency at St John Hospital & Medical Center. She is board certified in OB/GYN and has privileges at St John Hospital & Medical Center.

Sheryl Demick, CNM

Sheryl earned her nursing degree from Baker college in 2003 and her master’s of science in nursing from Frontier Nursing University in 2015 specializing in midwifery care. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board as a nurse-midwife. Sheryl has worked in Labor & Delivery at St. John Hospital & Medical Center for 14 years prior to becoming a midwife. After graduation, she starting working as a nurse midwife at Beaumont Dearborn Hospital and is excited and honored to be able to provide full scope midwifery care at SCS OBGYN. Sheryl believes in educating and empowering women about their options when it comes to their health care. She loves teaching and has also taught for the University of Detroit Mercy school of Nursing. Sheryl provides care for women across the life span, with special interest in pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care, health promotion, adolescent health, birth control and family planning.

Julie Hansen, CNM, WHNP-BC

Julie graduated from Frontier Nursing University with her MSN in Midwifery and received a Post Master’s Certificate in Women’s Health. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and National Certification Corporation. She earned her BSN degree from Michigan State University and worked as a labor & delivery nurse in the Beaumont Health System for 20 years. Julie is passionate about women’s health and the benefits of personalized care and support during the birthing process. Prior to joining the St. Clair Shores OB/GYN team, Julie was privileged to work as a full scope midwife in private practices out of Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital’s Karmanos Birth Center and Troy Beaumont where she was honored to have been present for many births! Julie’s goal with each woman is to provide safe, compassionate health care that values and respects individual needs. She enjoys educating her patients about health care options supporting choice, and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors. Her special interests include pregnancy, birth, postpartum care, breastfeeding concerns, family planning, contraceptive management, well woman & gynecologic care.

Tina Rush, CNM

Tina is a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Nurse Midwifery Program and completed a Post-Master’s Program for Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners in 2007. She has worked as a CNM/WHNP in Southeast Michigan since 2008. Tina strives to provide compassionate care for all her patients that is individualized based on their needs or desires. Tina has a passion for education, empowering women, and promoting not only physical, but emotional and mental well-being. She provides care to women throughout the lifespan, with a special interest in pregnancy, labor & delivery, postpartum (including postpartum mood disorders), adolescent health, birth control & family planning, well woman care, and menopause.

Kelly Lewis, CNM

Kelly earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from the University of Michigan in 2005 and her Master’s of Science in Nurse Midwifery from Wayne State University in 2016. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board as a Nurse-Midwife. She was an orthopedic nurse for 2 years prior to working as a Labor & Delivery nurse at Royal Oak Beaumont for 5 years prior to becoming a midwife. After graduation, she has worked as a nurse-midwife at Beaumont Dearborn Hospital for 5 years as well as a full scope Midwife for 4 years. She is thrilled to be able to join the SCS OBGYN team and bring her love and experience for full-scope midwifery care. Kelly believes in educating women about their bodies and health and doing what is right for them and their families. She provides care for women during preconception counseling, pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum, as well as annual visits, preventative care, gyn problem visits, and birth control.

Renee Sokolowski, CNM

To say that being a certified nurse midwife (CNM) is simply Renee’s “job” would be a vast understatement. Midwifery and being an APRN is her passion and life purpose. She has personally attended the deliveries of 652 babies since starting her career 8 years ago. A brief overview of Renee’s nursing experience includes Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care and Cardiac Step Down, all of which has been within the Beaumont Health System. She is a graduate from Wayne State University’s Midwifery program. She also received a BSN from The University of Detroit Mercy and a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Michigan State University. Renee is an avid runner and triathlete and loves to read and learn new things. She is mother to the coolest 17 and 5 year old boys around and two amazing miniature dachshunds.
